Pharma and Biotech R&D scientists use our technology to observe cell cultures in their original environment. The platform automatically computes cell viability and density. For these customers the 3D aspect is particularly important in understanding the underlying cell mechanics and interactions. Our technology allows them to reduce the time to bring new molecules to market and thus reduce R&D costs.
Pharma and Biotech engineers implement our technology to supervise cell cultures in R&D and production and to improve on Quality Control. This allows them to look directly inside bioreactors and give immediate and automated feedback to the supervision systems on the number of cells, the viability of the cultures and possible contaminations. Today this is still largely manual work including sampling and sample analyses.
Ovizio’s technology is extremely well-suited for observing thick samples of scattering media such as the migration of cancer cells in collagen gels and for tracking dynamic phenomena without temporal distortion. The combination of holographic microscopy with the observation of fluorescent samples is another patented feature. The technology can also be used for the detection and tracking of nanoparticles in 3D.
