Lipid Accumulation in Adipocytes & Macrophages

a) 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes and 3T3-L1 adipocytes:

Label-free 3D Holographic Imaging for studying lipid accumulation in adipocytes. The mature adipocytes contain significantly more lipids compared to the pre-adipocytes. Compared to classic microscopy which requires sampling, fixing & staining, OVIZIO's approach enables the observation of samples without alteration, making them available for further studies (e.g. Time Lapse Studies).

b) Murine Raw 264.7 Macrophages cultivated in 24-well plates: 

Macrophage cellular morphology observed via 3D imaging to enable label-free analysis of lipid accumulation. Murine macrophages were incubated for 22 hours with native low-density lipoprotein (LDL) (left). Picture on the right shows macrophages incubated with myeloperoxidase-oxidized LDL (mox LDL).
